We present to you 08 initiatives that make you the most satisfying!
#1. The Rocco multifunctional outdoor furniture is a barbecue, a sofa, a champagne bar and more!
2020 has been about creating intimate moments at home, and nothing says intimate like a cozy evening in your backyard! To take things up a notch, we have Rocco which is an all-rounder piece of outdoor furniture. Its clever design transforms it from a fun barbecue into a sofa or champagne bar and even a smores pit – I think it’s safe to say Rocco is an essential this year!
You can add a fire bowl to the base or choose from various other accessories like a grill, table top, ice bucket and a parasol base. Customize Rocco to fit what you define as a chill evening. The minimal aesthetic, elegant curves, and its versatility really puts this piece on top of our wish lists – forget dreaming about a white Christmas, I’m dreaming about chilling by my personal barbeque/fireplace/champagne bar while playing Fleetwood Mac!

#3. This school desk turns into a safety shelter during disasters like earthquakes and more!
2020 has been full of curveballs – we’ve had forest fires, a pandemic, murder hornets, floods, massive meteor spotting and that mysterious monolith! So at this point it is best to be prepared for what we can safeguard ourselves from and on that note there is a wonderfully clever design aimed at protecting children from earthquakes. The Life Triangle Desk gives children the instant shelter they need in the event of a natural disaster at school. The desk looks and functions like any writing desk, but in the event of a quake or tremor (or honestly, even an attack on a school in a war-torn area), the desk converts into a secure triangle-shaped shelter against falling debris or shrapnel. In the event of a calamity, the desk surface can be lifted up to unlock it, allowing it to slide down, creating a triangular space underneath. Given that triangles are a naturally stable shape, the desk helps protect children from any large falling items by deflecting them. The desk also helps rescue teams who will instinctively know to check underneath them for victims and survivors. The desk can also be reconfigured for adult size and be used in universities and offices.
The Life Triangle Desk is a winner of the @goldenpindesign Award for the year 2020.

#3. This IKEA inspired bench holds a home gym while merging with your living room interiors!
Our homes have turned into micro-networks of all the businesses we had once frequented daily. @perretta.dsgn, having had enough of it too, recently designed Kondition, a flexible piece of home fitness furniture, in order to maintain the comfort of our home all while providing a solution for those who want to remain physically active.
Kondition was inspired by a piece of furniture that actually resembles a standard workout bench, IKEA’s BEKANT series. Both IKEA’s BEKANT and Perretta’s Kondition have similar personalities as they appear as modest, simple furniture designs whose true essence shines through in their ability to blend into any given room. At first, an unassuming side bench or low-rise table during living room hours, and then, an adjustable home workout with a sliding bench come gym time. Perretta was certain to make bullnose corners for Kondition’s workout station in order to enhance both the piece’s adaptive nature and its approachability in its inherent baby-proof design. Additionally, Perretta plans to utilize aluminum extrusion in any eventual construction process as that would ensure a high strength to weight ratio for more intense workouts.
The pull-out drawer is perhaps Kondition’s defining feature as this solves the problem of home gym equipment taking up too much space. On the planning surrounding Kondition’s drawer feature, Perretta says, “The drawer in this concept utilizes load-bearing rails of 100kg plus and small castors on the underside to make pulling the drawer out easy.” Along with Kondition’s drawer frame, Perretta integrated fixtures all around the bench that will allow users to perform resistance band movements such as rows, bicep curls, tricep extensions, and lateral raises. From the more disguised features such as the fixtures and hooks to the ample storage space given by the drawer, and then to the casual, yet durable upholstery that fits into living rooms and office spaces alike, giving your workouts that plush, extra comfort sometimes needed – Kondition, as Perretta remarks, is as “adaptable both functionally and aesthetically.”
#4. Do you ever just…want to fold your furniture to make it fit in place?
If you’ve ever lived in a dorm or a city apartment, you know that it is a treasure hunt to find that perfect desk that will fit in your corner and not hog space. This desk by @studiomichaelhilgers brings to life something we’ve all said too often – “I wish I could just fold it from here and here and then it would fit!” It optimizes corner space and while the desk doesn’t actually fold (it is not as flexible as it looks), the carefully crafted corner folds double up as small, elevated, built-in shelves!
Love imagining how it would be if furniture, lights, bottles and more could be folded? Check out our stories today for the best origami-inspired product designs!

#5. Bringing new life to the room divider, the designers at Molo, a design and production studio led by Stephanie Forsythe and Todd MacAllen, created their own rendition, calling it a paper softwall or folding partition, one that folds and bends, with the flexibility to be shaped in any curved or linear formation, and expands and contracts, like breathing.
When expanded, the paper softwall is like a monolithic accordion paper organizer that is surprisingly lightweight and can easily change direction to define private spaces or supply dramatic backdrops for performances. Each paper softwall expands to a total of 15 feet when fully extended and positioned in a straight line, but can reach any length in between for shorter, or more curved lines. When the soft paperwall is properly compressed, it recoils and achieves the thickness of a book. Molo’s paper softwall is structured in wooden layers, that are collected from responsible sources certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, and then coated with a non-toxic fire retardant. For room dividers, this is a new building material. The honeycomb latticework gives the softwall shape and flexibility to bend and create shapes, while also providing intricately layered barriers to absorb sound with a soft and distinguishable thickness.
The softwalls come in three different choices for height, five, six, or eight feet, with an additional three options for color. Steel strips attach to the magnetic end of the softwall, in order to latch onto hard surfaces, like walls or fences, and then with a corresponding felt handle, Molo’s softwall can mimic a sliding door, evocative of shōji, a room divider used in traditional Japanese architecture. By fastening additional softwalls to the magnetic strips that line the ends of each partition, they can double in size, or triple even. If inspiration hits, you might even be able to create a small home constructed entirely out of Molo’s softwalls.

#6. This modular low-cost flotation device uses recycled plastic bottles!
The World Health Organization is spearheading efforts to help children in low-income areas learn how to swim, and the SAVIOUR concept attempts at creating highly-effective, low-cost training tools for children as they gradually pick up swimming. The Saviour is a modular system of interlocking tubes that help you create flotation devices. The tubes don’t float themselves, but rather, allow you to attach multiple plastic bottles around the rim to help the overall product stay afloat. You can either assemble the Saviour to form a U-shaped training apparatus, or join multiple pieces to close the U, turning it into an O-shaped device that children can use as a tube.
The Saviour is low-cost, and its individual modules can easily be 3D-printed based on demand. Moreover, it utilizes plastic bottles, helping recycle waste into something vastly more useful. If a plastic bottle gets damaged, it can easily be replaced with another one, allowing you to quickly upgrade/repair your training gear. Besides, the colorful bands on the Saviour help increase its visibility, allowing you to spot it floating on the water from a distance!

#7. Modular micro-environments that grow with the plants and germinate without transplanting!
Agrodome is a modular micro-environment planting system that provides farmers with more efficient solutions to large-scale germination and maturation of crops. Transplanting can be a complicated and delicate process, it’s imperative to not disrupt the crop’s blooming roots. Agrodome is a transparent, lightweight spike that farmers can insert into the soil where seedlings begin their germination process. When the they are first planted into the earth, the spike digs deep into the soil and provide a compact greenhouse effect for the seedlings. Then, the spike’s domed top incorporates a funnel used to collect and distribute water to Agrodome’s spike, which provides each seedling with ample water to continue germination. The spike’s edges have cavities that propel collected water directly into the soil for better, quicker absorption and to help moderate and nourish the seedlings. Oxygen is ventilated through the air holes dotted across the perimeter of the cube roof’s rounded edges so plants can produce energy from more direct sources.
As the seedlings develop and grow, farmers can lift Agrodome’s spike accordingly. This way, even when the plants grow, breathing room is still provided between the interior roof and the plant’s tallest leaves. Additionally, each piece is stackable for clean and easy transportation + storage. Agrodome is designed to build modular micro-environments to make the process easy for farmers and encourage more people to take it up!
#8. This Assassin’s Creed Valhalla themed gaming controller already smells of the viking age! Swipe 👉
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had a strong launch a few weeks earlier, building on the success of Assassin’s Creed Rebellion and the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Now that we are talking about the exclusively released title for Windows, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and even the cloud-gaming platform Stadia – there’s something more you can rejoice about if you are a die-hard fan. This is the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla themed controller by Nacon Gaming that’s completely kickass if you are from the Viking’s clan. The controller is a themed Nacon Revolution Pro Controller 3, tailor-made for every fan of this epic series which came into existence more than a decade ago as a worthy successor to the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time franchise. The motifs on the wooden textured surface, the game branding, the joystick, the buttons, and the signature leather strap on one side of the controller.
For all the Assassin’s Creed fans who have been following the franchise for a long time, and are looking forward to adding the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for countless hours of RPG action, this one is definitely irresistible!
